C H A R A C T E R

Backstory

Tristane Liancourt, the squire of Sir Rolland Guilles, won his spurs in the Siege of Wayrest at age fifteen and has served with distinction for over twenty years. He is known for his hard stares, a quick and deadly lash of his sword, and unbreakable loyalty. Having been raised in the halls of St. Pelin, Tristane's calling is to serve great and small lords across High Rock. His vow to slay creatures most unnatural has earned him a fearsome reputation as a monster slayer.Not born into luxury, Tristane has had to cut his own way into the world. He is a seasoned jouster, and combatant, and has been a member of noble retinues across High Rock of which he has served with distinction.

Appearance

Upon first glance, one would see not the image of a young man eager to spend his life willingly on the field but of a wisened and tested warrior. He stands tall and straight, with a strong, athletic build that speaks of his physical prowess and training. His black hair, laced with silvery strands, is neatly groomed and falls in sleek, straight locks that frame his chiseled features.He wears a suit of armor that has seen many battles, with dents and scratches that bears witness his prowess on the battlefield. A long, black cloak billows behind him as he moves, adding to his intimidating aura. His sword is always at his side, a testament to his readiness to defend his honor or those he has sworn to protect.His eyes are clear and steady, radiating a sense of calm assurance and wisdom that inspires confidence and respect. He speaks with a measured and deliberate tone, choosing his words carefully to convey his deep sense of responsibility and duty. Despite his formidable skills as a warrior, it is his integrity and sense of honor that truly sets him apart, and which earns him the admiration and loyalty of all who know him.

Personality

Tristane has fought in hard battles and lived a hard and often lonely life. He has seen the violent delights of war and has had to make difficult decisions that weigh heavily on his conscience. As a result, he is often quiet and introspective, preferring to keep his thoughts and emotions to himself.Despite the horrors, Tristane remains steadfast and resolute, possessing a deep sense of courage and determination that allows him to face even the most daunting challenges. He is fiercely loyal to his comrades-in-arms and will stop at nothing to protect them and ensure their safety. His experience in battle has also given him a keen tactical mind, allowing him to think quickly on his feet and make split-second decisions in the heat of the moment.However, his time on the battlefield has also left him with physical and emotional scars. Despite these struggles, however, Tristane remains committed to his duty and will continue to fight for what he believes in.

Abilities and Equipment

Weapons: Tristane weild's a variety of weapons suited for task. In a charge, he favors a lance which he will discard after shattering the tip. Against armored foes he favors a mace and shield or he'll brandish his greatsword named 'Talon'.Armor: Tristane wears fine-fitted platemail colored black as coal. Some cloth finery enhances the aesthetic of night with indigo accents. His great helm features a tall plume of dyed horsehair. armor reinforced by chainmail.

A Knight Errant
Tristane's duty as a Knight of St. Pelin is to travel High Rock and serve for short stints of time with various lords of the realm. His primary role is that of a monster hunter; second to it, he ensures the land is free of brigands.Woes of War
Tristane's first battle was as a squire during Ranser's war. At the age of fifteen he accompanied Sir Rolland Guiles who later died in the same battle. It was Guiles' wish that Tristane be knighted for his bravery. Tristane is still haunted by this bloody affair and suffers nightmares from it.A Man of Brutal Honor
Tristane's view on violence is that it is a tool to bend the compliance of others. As such, he holds a warped sense of duty and honor at the point of a sword.
